Strengthening SACS together
Our goal as the SACS OBU is to build and foster a strong alumni network, so that we can leverage our community in order to provide opportunities for the boys and contribute financial resources for scholarships, infrastructure development and various educational initiatives. All of these initiatives will then come together to enrich the overall learning experience and strengthen the reputation of SACS, leaving a lasting legacy and impacting future generations.
As we approach the momentous occasion of our 200-year anniversary, ‘SACS 200’, is beginning to ignite the imagination of the entire SACS community. This significant milestone presents a golden opportunity to rally together and secure vital funds to ensure the continued longevity of the school.
SACS Endowment Trust
The SACS Endowment Trust has been established as an independent and professional entity to efficiently receive donations and create a sustainable long-term funding platform for the ongoing development of SACS. To find out more about the Endowment Trust or to make a donation contact Deanne Friis-Smith: sacs200@sacollege.org.za.
Ithuba Trust
The primary goal of the trust is to establish a sustainable platform that raises funds to enable deserving young men, who would otherwise be unable to afford it, to attend SACS. The target is to maintain a fund of R15 million, supporting approximately 40 students per year. Recognising the challenge of inequality in education, investing in the Ithuba Trust is not only supporting SACS but also making a profound investment in the future prosperity of the nation, addressing and overcoming inequality through equal access to education.
The trust aims to assist boys of all ages attending SACS, with the selection process driven by the school to ensure transparency and fairness. The trust sustains itself through various initiatives, including donations from Old Boys, parents, and friends of SACS, an annual Legacy Dinner, and support from sponsorships and events. For more information about the Ithuba Trust, interested parties can contact Deanne Friis-Smith: sacs200@sacollege.org.za, or the OBU Office: sacs_obu@sacollge.org.za.
